Furniture designer Jesper Holm designs and builds elegant, functional furniture with personality to last for generations, utilizing traditional carpentry methods and treating wood with linseed oil. Possessed of the same background that many Danish design greats share, Holm both continues and renews the Scandinavian design ideology.
His perfectly balanced Biotop Sofa (1992) has an aesthetic purity about it with its lightweight stainless steel geometric base apposed with leather upholstery in parts. It is a striking choice, appearing both classic and stylish at the same time and truly realising Holm’s ideal as he asserted- “I seek the simple, the functional, the clear and the calm.”
