Designed for Life. Since 1999.

Picket & Rail was founded by engineers in 1999, with our early business closely connected to the United States, developing solid wood furniture for the American market.
Our early collections drew inspiration from classic American Shaker and Mission furniture, traditions built around honest materials, practical construction and lasting usefulness.
Working with the American furniture market helped shape an engineering-led philosophy that remains with us today: furniture should not only look good, but also be well constructed, functional and made for everyday family life.
We later brought these principles to Singapore, adapting them to local homes and lifestyles while retaining the emphasis on durability, proportion and practical design.
Picket&Rail began in 1999 with a U.S.-registered company and solid wood furniture developed for the American market.
Inspired by classic Shaker and Mission furniture, our early work established principles that still guide us today: honest materials, practical construction, durability and everyday usefulness.
We later brought that philosophy to Singapore and adapted it for local homes.
Picket & Rail began with furniture, but our role today extends far beyond retail.
We now design, engineer, curate and customise products around how people actually live — from individual chairs and sofas to kitchens, wardrobes, storage systems and complete room solutions.
Our approach increasingly begins with the space itself: how people sit, sleep, store, move and live within it.
Start with how the space should work. Then design what belongs within it.
Today, Picket&Rail goes beyond furniture retail.

Design should solve a real need.
Furniture should fit the people and spaces.
Respond to changing homes and lifestyles.
It should remain useful beyond trends.
Technology is a tool for turning better ideas into better-made furniture.
At Picket&Rail, digital design connects planning, customisation and manufacturing, allowing ideas developed with our customers to move more accurately from screen to production.
From 3D space planning and product configurators to digitally controlled manufacturing, we use technology to improve precision, consistency and customisation.
For selected custom cabinetry, our digital production process can achieve precision of up to ±0.5 mm, helping components fit accurately even within complex spaces.
As technology changes, the objective remains the same: make good design easier to plan, more precise to produce and more accessible to live with.

Thinking Families reflects our belief that good design should consider more than the immediate purchase.
We think about how furniture will be used, how safely it works, how efficiently it uses space, how long it can remain useful and how the materials we choose affect the home around it.
Design with consideration for the people who live with it.
Thinking Families reflects our belief that design should consider the people who live with it.
We think about safety, space, usability, longevity and materials — not simply how a product looks.
Design with consideration.
One of the simplest forms of sustainability is making something worth keeping.
We believe furniture should remain useful for years rather than be designed around short replacement cycles.
That influences how we think about:
