A baby mattress cannot be too thick. A mattress that is too thick will reduce the effectiv height of the safety rail. Our mattress is 12cm thick. This is the maximum allowed for our cots as well as by safety standards. A thick mattress is also more stable when baby learns to stand up. Thin mattresses tend to sink between the base slats when stepped on.
